If you do not wish to upload your keychain into cloud storage, there is also the possibility of transferring your keychain to a mobile device manually. This manual only applies to Steganos Password Manager 22.
- Open the keychain you want to import and click on "File" -> "Export for mobile apps" in the menu bar.
- Click on "Display files in Windows Explorer".
- You need to transfer all files that bear the name of your keychain (file extension .spe and .spm) to your mobile device. Depending on whether you use an Android or iOS device, the next steps will differ. Please follow the instructions suitable for your device.
Transfer keychain file to iOS devices (iPhone, iPad)
- Connect your device to your PC using a cable.
- Open iTunes (or install it first, if necessary), select your device and go to Settings - Apps on the left.
- In "File Sharing", select "Password Manager", click on "Add" and select the keychain files you want to transfer.
- Click on "Synchronize".
- When you start the Steganos Password Manager app the next time, your keychain will appear in your overview. Please keep in mind that your keychain will not be updated automatically if you change your keychain in Steganos Password Manager. You will have to transfer it again manually in order to transfer any changes made to your mobile device.
Transfer keychain file to Android devices
- Connect your device to your PC using a cable.
- Open Windows Explorer and select your mobile device.
- The keychain files have to be transferred to Device\Internal storage\Android\data\steganos.passwordmanager\files\.
- After the files have been copied, your keychain will be available in your overview as soon as you start or restart the Steganos Password Manager app. Please keep in mind that your keychain will not be updated automatically if you change your keychain in Steganos Password Manager on Windows. You will have to transfer it again manually in order to transfer any changes made to your mobile device.
