A Portable Password Manager can be placed on an external storage medium, e.g. a USB stick, a memory card, and provides you with read access to your passwords on devices where you cannot or do not want to install the normal Steganos Password Manager.
To create a Portable Password Manager, click on the gear icon in the upper right corner to open the settings and then navigate to the "Portable Password Manager" button in the settings.
Now select the storage location: Normally, this is a connected USB stick where you want to save the Portable Password Manager. Afterwards, you can specify the keychain you want to save on the stick in the drop-down menu. Then click on "Create" to create the Portable Password Manager with the selected defaults.
To use the Portable Password Manager on another PC, simply connect the USB stick with the saved keychain to that PC. On the USB stick there is a file called PasswordManagerPortable.exe. Double-click this file - the Portable Password Manager will open and you only need to enter your access password.
Hint: If there is already a Portable Password Manager in the target directory, it will be overwritten with the current data when you create it again. You can use this feature to regularly update the Portable Password Manager with the latest changes.
If you want to store multiple Portable Password Managers in parallel on the same storage medium, please make sure to assign a different name to each one or create a separate subfolder for each one.
